Social Skills Group
High School Group - Day/Time TBD
Middle School Group - Day/Time TBD
Many children and teens struggle with peers for a variety of reasons, such as anxiety, behavioral challenges, or difficulties with empathy. This weekly group aims to address these struggles and provide them the opportunity to practice age-appropriate social skills in a safe, comfortable setting.
This group is divided by age group level. You and your child/teen will meet with the lead therapist for an intake session where the therapist can get to know your child/teen, can recommend a group level, and assess for how well the group will fit your child’s/teen’s needs.
Group Goals Include:
1. Improving communication with peers: from casual conversation, to verbal expression of thoughts and feelings, to assertiveness and self-advocacy skills
2. Developing peer social skills: initiating friendships, making plans, and maintaining friendships
3. Fostering socially appropriate behaviors and social problem-solving skills
