Self-Esteem and Friendship Group
Day/Time TBD
Many children and teens struggle with a poor sense of self-esteem or self-confidence. Often this struggle affects their ability to communicate with others, initiate and maintain friendships, or try new things.
This weekly group aims to address these struggles and provide them the opportunity to grow a healthier sense of self-esteem and stronger sense of self that they can share with world. This group is divided by age group level. You and your child/teen will meet with the lead therapist for an intake session where the therapist can get to know your child/teen, can recommend a group level, and assess for how well the group will fit your child’s/teen’s needs.
Group Goals Include:
1. Improving communication with peers: starting casual conversation, verbally expressing of thoughts and feelings, using assertive communication and self-advocacy skills
2. Developing friendship skills: initiating friendships, making plans, and maintaining friendships
3. Fostering a stronger sense of self, willingness to try new things, and positive thinking.
