Autumn Harris, MA (she/her/hers)

Autumn Harris is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with an enthusiasm for working with youth, adults, and families. Autumn values establishing a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic space in order to facilitate meaningful growth.  Autumn practices compassion-focused care and believes in the importance of developing a collaborative relationship with her patients.

Autumn utilizes various evidenced-based approaches to care, such as person-centered, compassion-focused, mindfulness, dialectical-behavioral (DBT), cognitive-behavioral (CBT), motivational interviewing, executive functioning coaching, and strength-based techniques.

Autumn’s clinical interests include a variety of presenting issues, such as: trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, bipolar disorders, school and academic issues, life transitions, marital and relationship difficulties, stress management, self-esteem challenges, behavioral challenges, family conflict, grief, social skills struggles, ADHD, executive functioning, eating disorders, body positivity, adjustment disorders, and teen issues.

Background

Autumn has previous clinical experience working in high schools as well as a women and children’s shelter. Autumn earned her Master of Arts in Human Development degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield. Autumn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield.

Autumn is passionate about racial justice and equality issues.  Autumn identifies as a Black woman and Christian.  Autumn is also vegan allied and works from a body positivity approach.

Autumn is a professional member of the American counseling Association (ACA).
